Taro and Sweet Potato Ball Series

 

Taro ball is a traditional Taiwanese dessert made from taro. The taro balls can be made by mixing mashed taro with water and sweet potato flour or potato flour, make into a long strand and cut into small pieces, placed in boiling water and cooked until it floats. Besides the traditional taro and sweet potato ball, Kimbo came up with Taro ball with sweet potato and sweet potato ball with taro. They are more like Nibo Tangyuan which are filled with stuffing, making it taste more creamy and delicious. The dessert can be served with syrup either iced or hot. It is also very common to include taro balls and sweet potato balls in other Taiwanese desserts like douhua or baobing. It can be found in almost every part of Tawain, among which JiuFen's taro ball is said to be the most famous. All markets should catch this trend, with the summer coming, business will definitely rise and grow.

Cooking instructions: Without needing to thaw. Directly place in pot of boiling water and cook for 3 minutes with lid, then let it sit for 3-4 minutes with lid still on, add syrup to water base if necessary for sweeter taste and it’s ready to eat.
